However, recent developments suggest that the paparazzi are rethinking their approach towards the actor, as growing security concerns have prompted a more cautious strategy.
Since the killing of Baba Siddique on October 13, Salman Khan’s security has been heightened and placed on high alert. This is also due to multiple death threats to the actor that have led to increased safety measures. The situation escalated to the point that the Mumbai police provided Khan with Y+ security cover, a high-level security arrangement typically reserved for public figures facing significant risk.

Given the seriousness of these threats, Salman Khan’s security team has become hyper-vigilant, constantly monitoring his surroundings and restricting access to him in public spaces. This has made it increasingly difficult for photographers to approach the actor without raising suspicion or creating potentially unsafe situations.
In light of these developments, there is a growing consensus within the paparazzi to avoid photographing Salman Khan. The decision is driven not only by respect for his safety but also by a desire to avoid adding to an already tense atmosphere. Photographers are equally concerned about the actor’s security and have chosen to refrain from photographing him, particularly when he is on the move.
The prevailing sentiment in the industry is that safety must come first. Bollywood photographer Manav Manglani, speaking exclusively with India Today TV, said, “Earlier, we would chase him at studios, at home, or on sets. We could try and find out where he was and what he was doing. But ever since the situation has escalated, we are withholding ourselves from photographing him. Salman is loved by all, so the safety and security of everyone involved, including him and our team, is our top priority. We will be strictly following all security protocols and guidelines. If there is any coverage to be done, it will be done in a safe and respectful manner, in coordination with his security team to ensure there are no risks.”
Manav added, “As part of the media, we understand the responsibility we carry, especially in times of heightened security concerns. Our team is committed to responsible reporting while ensuring that safety is never compromised.”
Photographer Sneh Zala, also speaking to India Today TV stated, “It’s not worth jeopardizing anyone’s safety just to get a picture. Salman bhai has been through enough, and we need to respect the situation. His safety is very important to us, so we will only photograph him if it’s absolutely necessary. Otherwise, we will give him the space he needs.”
He further added, “He’s one of the biggest superstars in our country and deserves all the limelight. That being said, we will be cautious and ensure that his safety and whereabouts are never compromised.”
In an industry where the line between public and private is often blurred, this cautious approach may well become the new norm when it comes to covering one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.
