Lana Del Rey has taken to social media to call out a local paparazzi, including a Louisiana couple, for invading her privacy. The newlywed Del Rey says they have gone to disturbing lengths to secretly record her and her new husband, Jeremy Dufrene, during their time together.
The iconic singer, who recently tied the knot with the Louisiana-based tour guide in a romantic ceremony by the bayou, revealed that a specific group of people have repeatedly violated their privacy, even resorting to flying drones into their window.
According to NOLA.com, Lana Del Rey identified the couple as residents of Houma. They have allegedly been using drones and other means to secretly capture intimate moments of the newlyweds. Del Rey expressed her discomfort and anger over this intrusion, pointing out that these actions have made her and Dufrene feel unsafe, especially as they attempt to enjoy their time together in Louisiana.
On Wednesday, Del Rey responded to a video posted on Instagram, which showed her and Dufrene relaxing with to-go boxes outside a Louisiana restaurant. The footage was recorded without their consent, with the individual filming them audibly grunting and breathing heavily in the background. The couple appeared completely unaware that their private moments were being monitored.
“They won’t stop flying drones into our window every morning,” Del Rey wrote, describing the continuous harassment. She also highlighted how a paparazzi had taken to switching vehicles to follow her, going so far as to edit pictures of her wedding ring.
Outraged fans took to the comments and voiced their support for Del Rey. Many condemned the actions of the Houma couple, labeling them “creepy” and “disturbing.” One comment read, “This looks like found footage in a horror movie,” while another suggested, “12 gauge the drone,” reflecting fans’ frustration over these intrusions.
Del Rey and Dufrene first met during one of his boat tours in 2019, and they have since enjoyed time together, many of their outings in public around the bayous of southeastern Louisiana. They were married last week in a small ceremony near the spot where they first met, making the ongoing invasion of their privacy much more weird.
For a couple attempting to live a peaceful life away from the spotlight, these continuous privacy breaches are more than just unwanted—they undoubtedly cross a line that leaves Del Rey and her husband feeling vulnerable in what should be the happiest (not to mention most private) period of their lives.
