Chappell Roan arrived on the black carpet of the 2024 VMA’s in a medieval-style dress, accessorised with a silver sword.
The singer was handed her weapon by her own knight while posing for photos.
During her red carpet appearance, Chappell became visibly annoyed at the paparazzi.
A paparazzi allegedly shouted at her to “Shut the f**k up” as she posed on the carpet.
Turning to face the crowd, Chappell clapped back, “You shut the f**k up.”
Chappell then shouted, “Don’t, not me bi**h.”
Other paparazzi can be heard saying, “You go, girl.”
Chappell is nominated for the Best New Artist, following the success of her album Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.
Megan Thee Stallion will host the awards show at the UBS Arena on Long Island, New York.
Taylor Swift leads the nominations with twelve nods – including Artist of the Year.
Taylor Swift took home nine VMAs last year, bringing her total to an impressive 23. That places her just behind Beyoncé, who has 28 (two with Destiny’s Child) and just ahead of Madonna, who has 20 awards, and Lady Gaga, who has 19.
