Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, who has been open about his battles with alcohol and substance abuse, recently revealed that he broke his 1.5-year sobriety at the wedding reception of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal. Honey Singh admitted in a candid interview that despite his commitment to staying away from alcohol, the celebration led him to indulge once again.

Speaking to The Lallantop on their YouTube channel, Yo Yo Honey Singh shared details about the night he broke his sobriety. “I hadn’t had vodka in over a year. I landed here for Sonakshi’s wedding, and I was very happy to attend. As I was going in, I declared to the paparazzi that I would dance without drinking,” said Singh, recalling his excitement at being a part of the wedding celebrations in Mumbai.
However, the atmosphere at the reception and the joyous occasion led him to give in. “Everyone was there, and it was Sonakshi’s wedding, so I said, ‘laao aaj’ (bring it on). After having more than half a bottle, I was up on the stage,” he confessed, adding that he drank even more as the night progressed. Honey Singh’s confession highlights his ongoing struggle with alcohol, despite his efforts to stay sober after his health issues in the past.

The rapper shared his happiness for the newlywed couple, speaking fondly of both Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal. In a humorous moment caught on camera, when asked by paparazzi if he had consumed alcohol at the party, Honey Singh openly admitted, “I haven’t drunk in 1.5 years, but today, I drank a lot.” He further added, “My mother will yell at me if she sees this video.”
Singh expressed his joy for Sonakshi, saying, “It is my best friend’s wedding. I am so happy. She got the best guy in Zaheer.” He also joked about Zaheer, mentioning, “If he doesn’t keep her happy, hum dekh lenge usko” (we’ll take care of him).
On the professional front, Yo Yo Honey Singh is gearing up for the release of his new album titled ‘Glory.’ The album is set to be a global project, featuring collaborations with artists from Latin America, Western Europe, and even Indian folk singers.
