Meg Ryan stepped out with her daughter Daisy in New York City for a rare public outing, turning a simple shopping trip into a delightful mother-daughter day. The 62-year-old Sleepless in Seattle actress and her daughter, 20, explored the book-lined shelves of McNally Jackson in SoHo before hitting the shops in Tribeca.
Dressed for comfort and style on Wednesday, August 28, Ryan rocked a plain white long-sleeved top paired with navy cargo pants, complementing her look with black sneakers and a crossbody bag. Daisy added flair to the day, sporting a butterfly-print button-up and classic blue jeans, finished with white kicks and a few bracelets.

The bond between the duo — Ryan adopted Daisy from China in 2006 — is something the movie legend cherishes deeply. “I’m convinced of magic because of our relationship,” the Hollywood icon told Glamour in 2023. “We were destined.”
Ryan went on to gush about her children. “My kids have always been a blast. They’re the best,” she said, adding, “They’re so alive in their curiosity and interest in the world.”
The proud mom also swooned over Daisy’s ambitious start to college life, sharing how her daughter is already eyeing more credits than required, diving into hobbies like design, sewing, and tailoring — she’s even put her spin on some of Ryan’s closet staples.
“I’m just so happy to know them, to be their mom,” the Grammy winner declared. In addition to Daisy, Ryan shares a biological son, Jack, with her ex-husband, actor Dennis Quaid. Following in his famous parent’s footsteps, the 32-year-old has carved his own slice of fame. Launching his acting career with The Hunger Games in 2012 — he has since taken on roles in major productions such as Scream, Oppenheimer, and the smash-hit drama series The Boys.
Ryan and the Parent Trap star, 70, first fell in love while filming their movie Innerspace. They eventually tied the knot in 1991, but called it quits nearly a decade of marriage later. Reflecting on his time with the rom-com queen, Quaid told The Sunday Times in 2018 that he feels divorce takes away your identity. “It’s like death. Your identity is wrapped up in the relationship and if it’s not going to be there … who are you? … Aren’t the most stressful things in life meant to be the death of a family member and moving house? And then there’s divorce, which is death and moving,” he said.
