Travis Kelce was dressed to the nines at the Kansas City Sports Awards on Tuesday, August 27. At the ceremony, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end looked dashing in an all-black outfit, with his new longer locks slicked back.
While there’s no doubt Kelce, 34, has certainly stepped up his style game — with some fans saying they “love this look” — others couldn’t help but sound off their jokes.
“Travis’s hair is giving 1890’s oil tycoon,” said one viewer on X (formerly Twitter). Another said he resembled “an Italian mob boss.” Similarly, one X user said that Kelce looked like he was “entering his cartel boss arc.”

Some were less kind, saying that Kelce looked like “a barstool dipsh*t,” and blaming his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, for the look. Many people roasted Kelce’s hair, urging him to “cut it” back down to his signature fade.
Several others couldn’t help but compare Kelce’s look to that of Jason Sudeikis’ titular Ted Lasso character, with one fan playfully suggesting Kelce take on the role.
Over the course of Kelce’s NFL career, he has earned three Super Bowl rings. He noted that the key to having exceeded his expectations is “just being curious and adventurous in different career field, knowing that football is going to end for everyone.”

And it looks like Kelce is already building his resume beyond the field. This fall, Kelce will serve as the host of Prime Video’s upcoming game show, Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?. He also has a starring role on Ryan Murphy’s new FX horror series, Grotesquerie.
Earlier this month, Deadline reported that Kelce signed on for a role in Lionsgate’s new action comedy movie, Loose Cannons.
Over this past weekend, Kelce enjoyed a pleasant reunion with Swift, who threw a party at her Rhode Island beach house upon her return from the European leg of the Eras Tour. While they’ve both been busy this summer, the two seem to be getting some quality time in before the beginning of the NFL season.
