Little Sterling Mahomes isn’t feeling well, but her mom Brittany is there to keep her spirits up. The 28-year-old wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared an Instagram story in which she held her daughter Sterling, 3, in her arms. The caption read, “Sick snuggles,” with some crying face emojis. Mahomes explained the illness by adding, “this weather change really getting to my girl.”
Patrick and Brittany are often open about their family life. They recently announced that Brittany is pregnant with their third child, but that both feel “done” and are not planning any more kids after that one.

In addition to Sterling Skye, whom they welcomed in February 2021, they are also proud parents to son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, who was born in November 2022.

After sharing the boomerang of Sterling announcing that she was feeling poorly, Mahomes also shared a text post featuring a quote from Rebecca Eanes, author of Positive Parenting: An Essential Guide. “So often, children are punished for being human. Children are not allowed to have grumpy moods, bad days, disrespectful tones, or bad attitudes, yet we adults have them all the time. None of us are perfect, and we must stop holding our children to a higher standard of perfection than we can attain.” It appeared as though Mahomes wanted to support her daughter’s right to be in a bad mood when feeling sick.

Mahomes has been open with fans about the challenges of parenting. She recently asked fellow parents for advice online after her son Bronze picked up a “bad habit” of refusing to eat unless the TV was turned on while they were on vacation. She also updated her fans the last time that Sterling was sick with a stomach virus.
Patrick and Brittany are high school sweethearts who tied the knot in 2022. A former soccer player, Brittany now co-owns the Kansas City Current, a women’s soccer team that she helped to found.
