Danny Cipriani’s estranged wife has filed for divorce from the rugby star and made explosive claims that her soon-to-be ex-husband messaged other women during their marriage.
The 36 year old sportsman, who parted ways with Victoria last November after a two-year union, is now facing divorce proceedings as his ex-spouse alleges she was deceived throughout their relationship.
Victoria has accused Cipriani, currently loved-up with actress AnnaLynne McCord, of losing touch with reality. Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Victoria revealed: “He left, I was heartbroken. Then he got together with AnnaLynne. I felt humiliated by him but now I want to move on with my life.”
Cipriani went Instagram official with the American actress, known for her portrayal Naomi Clark in the Beverly Hills reboot 90210, in April this year. The couple both shared snaps of their trip to Egypt for a tour of historical sites organised by tour guide Sacred Awakenings and travel agency Unknown Egypt Travel.
While Cipriani was “extremely romantic” when they first got together, his ex Victoria – who tragically lost the couple’s baby when she was 23 weeks pregnant – says she noticed a change in his behaviour when he stopped playing for Bath. She revealed: “I found out he had a number of apps and messages to other women on his phone. I knew his reputation as a ladies’ man but honestly believed he had changed.”
And in November, the pair had a row at the Four Seasons hotel in London which Victoria claims “triggered the end” of their marriage. Victoria disclosed in her recent interview: “It was an event with a self-help guru. Danny was sat near women he knew from spiritual circles and I started to see more than just friendship. I admit I did not deal with it well. I shouted at him. I confronted the women and told them he was my husband.”
She later went through her husband’s phone and found messages she claimed were “inappropriate” and “flattering” towards other women. She confessed: “I was shocked, heartbroken. They weren’t sexts but they were telling women they were beautiful, and about the connections he felt to them. Not the kind of thing you want to read your husband sending.”
Victoria goes on to say seeing the messages prompted her to call off her marriage. She tells the publication how she knew about her estranged husband’s reputation but had believed he was a new person. Victoria then reveals how she confronted Cipriani about the messages but he apparently dismissed her. “We had a huge row and he left, taking four pairs of jogging bottoms,” she adds.
Despite her heartache, the 42 year old mum-of-two still holds goodwill towards Danny. She expressed: “I hope he finds the happiness he is searching for. I still believe he is a beautiful person. But I have said my side now so I’d like to carry on with my life. It is a new chapter and I am now talking from a place of peace and not pain.”
