It is, we feel very confident stating at this point, the beginning of the end for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.
Yes, again.
Late last week, sources confirmed to TMZ that Affleck has closed escrow on a mansion on Pacific Palisades that had been on sale for $20.5 million.
The new residence has five beds and six bathrooms … separate breakfast and dining areas… a separate family room… a den… walk-in closets … a media room. … a powder room… and a guest house.
Most notably, of course, only Affleck name is on the paperwork.
Just about six weeks ago, Ben and Jen put their shared home up for sale, the latest sign that the spouses were on the verge of filing for divorce.
The stars had only bought this house together in 2023 — and are asking a whopping $61 for the Los Angeles pad.
While neither Affleck nor Lopez has spoken publicly about the status of their union, a source told People Magazine in June that they “don’t have any summer plans together” and are “focused on their separate lives.”
This was most recently made evident when Lopez celebrated her birthday without the presence of her husband; she had also gone on vacation solo just a few weeks earlier.
This spring May, numerous insider told People that Affleck and Lopez had started living apart amid major tension in their romance.
“Ben continues to live at [a] Brentwood rental. He’s been there for about two months now,” a previous People reported stated.
“He seems okay. He’s been at his office every day and seems focused on work. He’s also spending time with his kids.”
In its latest headline regarding the couple, TMZ writes that a divorce is “inevitable,” but other outlets have claimed that Affleck and Lopez really are putting in the work to salvage their relationship.
“Jen and Ben agreed it is best to take some time apart so they can really figure out what it is that they want,” an insider told The Daily Mail this summer.
“They were ready to throw in the towel. Divorce papers are done and ready to be filed. But they wanted to give it one last go before walking away from this and are going back to the beginning by writing each other letters.
“This is what made them fall in love in the first place.”
