Maguire, 49, was caught in the flashbulbs at Fanatics founder Michael Rubin’s famed Fourth of July bash in The Hamptons, where he was seen with model Lily Chee. Despite the optics of the Spider-Man star placing his hand on the 20-year-old influencer’s lower back, Meyer, 47, assures there’s no romance brewing.
The scene that sparked the gossip showed Maguire, clad entirely in white, at the star-studded event alongside Chee, who donned a chic white cut-out dress. The images quickly circulated, igniting conversations and critiques about their noticeable age difference. One commenter even noted on X (formerly Twitter), “She wasn’t even born when the first Spider-Man film was released.”
Yet, both Maguire and Chee have stayed silent on the matter. However, the rumor mill didn’t stop Meyer from defending her former spouse amid the online chatter. She firmly and gracefully responded to a now-deleted pointed comment on her Instagram that questioned Maguire’s actions, given the age proximity to their daughter.

“I don’t usually respond to such nonsense, but he was kindly helping a friend to her car, being a good guy,” Meyer commented, debunking the dating speculation. Her reply, captured in a screenshot and shared across social media platforms, including Reddit, underscored her frustration with the rush to judgment. “And now he has [been] blasted online for dating someone he is not. But thank you for your rude comment, I hope it made you feel better today. Wishing you love and light.”
Meyer’s relationship with Maguire, from whom she separated in 2016 and later divorced in 2020, remains amicable, focusing on co-parenting their two children — 17-year-old daughter Ruby and 15-year-old son Otis. She has often spoken about the deep bond they maintain, once describing their post-divorce relationship as “the most beautiful experience of my life” on the June 23 episode of The World’s First Podcast in 2022. “I would literally do anything in the world for Tobey. He is my brother. I love him to death and we have the most beautiful family,” Meyer gushed.
