By now, it’s no surprise that another recent celebrity sighting has been documented at the downtown Las Vegas hotspot, Circa Resort & Casino.
Downstairs at their renowned steakhouse Barry’s Downtown Prime, an upcoming episode of the hit TV series, Pawn Stars, was being filmed in their gorgeous dining room. Rick Harrison, his son Corey Harrison, and Chumlee weren’t there alone, however. Esteemed award-winning actor, Jon Voight, met with the trio in the middle of the restaurant.
During filming, the four men discussed the upcoming biopic Reagan, set against the backdrop of the Cold War and scheduled for nationwide release in theaters on August 30, 2024. The film stars Dennis Quaid as the 40th President and Voight as KGB agent Viktor Petrovich, who tracks Reagan from his early days in Hollywood.
Interestingly, Quaid visited Barry’s Downtown Prime nearly four years ago for an episode of Pawn Stars, where he purchased a piece of Ronald Reagan memorabilia from Harrison on camera.
Between takes, the multiple Oscar and Golden Globe winner met with Circa’s very own CEO and owner, Derek Stevens. Voight voiced his love of the property to the game-changing Las Vegas businessman, saying, “This is great! I wish I could stay here all day!”
When filming concluded, restaurant co-owner and namesake, Chef Barry S. Dakake, was eager to show the whole crew around the heart (and stomach) of the dining spot – the kitchen! Back there Voight decided to snag one of the plates and leave a heartfelt message for the chef. He wrote, “Chef Barry, you are the greatest!” followed by his priceless signature. Barry, wanting to repay the movie star, gifted him with a whole to-go box of his favorite cookies, which the actor was happy to accept before parting ways.
Next, he was off to tour Circa’s premises with hotel executive, Richard Wilk, who has taken care of the A-list actor years ago. Wilk made sure Voight got a great glimpse of the world’s largest sportsbook and Nevada’s longest indoor bar, Mega Bar, before heading up to Stadium Swim – Circa’s monumental outdoor pool amphitheater. Voight was very impressed with all that Circa had to offer, and is already looking forward to returning! Along the way, he was gracious to all fans who approached him for a photo.
It’s safe to say this lively downtown property is no stranger to a star-studded day, on a weekly basis. Stay tuned for this upcoming Pawn Stars episode, Reagan, and future Circa celeb sightings.
