Kim Kardashian took to Instagram in the late hours of Tuesday night to share her latest photoshoot as she posed in a variety of oversized garments enveloped in yellow fur.
Some snaps revealed her skin-tight cream-coloured bodysuit and white stockings under all of the fur with some brown leather accessories also adding a pop of colour.
The abstract look almost instantly received backlash as it was startlingly reminiscent of the yellow-furred look North West wore during her stage debut at the Lion King’s anniversary concert last week, which has been widely criticised.
Viewers didn’t hold back in the socialite’s comment section, as one declared: “Imagine paying to let your daughter have a moment then not letting your daughter have a moment.”
Others were even more enraged at the thought of North’s role being “just a promotional stunt” while some claimed the 43-year-old had simply copied another look from her ex-husband’s new wife, Bianca Censori.
Kim’s outfit was startlingly similar to North’s costume, which featured yellow furry boots, matching basketball shorts, an oversized yellow sweater and a large furry yellow hood to give the illusion of a mane while she performed the iconic I Just Can’t Wait To Be King.
North’s debut at the Hollywood Bowl in May came under scrutiny for the potential nepotism at play behind her starring role as Young Simba, but fans were quick to stand up for the 10-year-old when they believed her mom was trying to steal the spotlight.
One hit back: “I guess you want a part in lion king as well.”
A second added: “One thing she gone do is upstage her daughter cause she bought the stage.”
“You couldn’t let your daughter have a moment u had to wear it too,” another enraged fan claimed.
Elsewhere in the comments, viewers compared The Kardashians star to Big Bird from Sesame Street while some claimed she was “watching Censori too much”, referring to Kanye West’s current wife.
The 29-year-old Australian model has made headlines for her daring fashion sense and Kim’s newest look reflected some of Bianca’s preferences for light-coloured stockings, bodysuits and oversized fur garments.
