Channel 4 star Laura Hamilton has just dropped a major bombshell on her Instagram, revealing she’s saying goodbye to her beloved home.
The TV presenter and mum-of-two shared that she’s been sitting on this news for quite a while. In a heartfelt post on her official Instagram page, Laura spilled the beans: “SOME NEWS I’VE BEEN WANTING TO SHARE and I’ve been keeping this quiet for some time…
“One of my passions in life is restoring the love back into a property that is uncared for and rundown… It all began when I started saving a deposit for my first place age 16. By the time I was 19 I had just enough to buy a small one bedroom flat that needed a ‘makeover’.
“Since then I’ve been renovating properties and working my way up the ladder. Two and a half years ago, I moved into somewhere with my children that needed a lot of work. Not long after moving in, we moved out again and ‘The Rebuild’ began. In an effort to make my old property ‘eco friendly’, I chose to install an air source heat pump, solar panels, a water treatment plant and an electric car charger.”
“Despite my experience from previous projects, this was all new to me and I learnt so much along the way! I honestly don’t think I appreciated at the time just how big the project was. Failure wasn’t an option. I needed to create a home for my children.”, reports Devon Live.
The A Place In The Sun presenter then revealed she has sold her stunning family home, just months after renovating it. “I wasn’t planning on selling this property, but a few months ago, the time came for myself and my children to move on and say goodbye to this wonderful home… I don’t feel sad. In fact quite the opposite. I look back over the videos and I feel proud of what I achieved. If you have renovated a property yourself you will know exactly what I mean and how it feels..” Laura explained.

The Channel 4 star, who shares two children with ex-husband Alex Goward, thanked those who helped her with the renovation. “I want to give a HUGE shout out to @nicolekirkofficial and @montpellierlegal who are quite possibly THE best estate agents and legal firms out there right now and in my line of business I meet a fair few. Rocco and Tahlia now understand why I love doing what I do when it comes to renovating property. It was fantastic sharing this journey with them. NOW THE NEXT CHAPTER BEGINS! ” Laura added.
Fans of the property guru flocked to the comments section to praise the star. “Good luck Laura, I’m sure you’ll do another fabulous renovation looking forward to seeing your new project,”one wrote. Another fan gushed: “Well done Laura, so much hard work and love you’ve put into that place, seems a shame you want to move. But if that’s what feels right for you then good luck in your new venture.”
After a tough year following the end of her 13-year marriage, Laura is rebuilding her life. She’s a mum to two kids, Rocco, born in November 2013, and Thalia, who arrived in 2015, both shared with her former husband.
