Jamie Redknapp angered many football fans when he shared a wholesome photo of him and his sons at a match.

The 50-year-old former footballer took to his Instagram page to share a photo of him posing with his two children Charley and Beau at their seats at a football game. He stood in between the boys and wrapped his arms around them as they smiled for the camera with the pitch in the background.

He captioned the photo: “Champions League with the boys.” Although it was an innocent photo, a select number of fans were outraged by the post and blamed him as the reason ‘real fans’ were not able to purchase tickets. One user said: “Why proper fans can’t get tickets.”

Another user commented: “Some Dortmund and Real Madrid fans couldn’t get tickets last night, but hangers-on like you were there taking one of the 25,000 corporate tickets.” One unamused person posted: “Gotta love a freebie,” while another disgruntled follower added: “Taking tickets off genuine fans.”

One annoyed football fan commented: “Another example of the elite and privileged leaching tickets from authentic fans. How many genuine Spanish and German supporters make the expensive trek to Wembley only to watch the game outside because they couldn’t get a ticket?”

Most of the comments were positive, with John Bishop writing: “Looking good,” while his mother Sandra said: “Love you all.” One fan posted: “How wonderful for you all to share.” Jamie and ex-wife Louise Redknapp tied the knot with a quiet ceremony in 1998, when Louise was just 23, while on holiday in Bermuda.

Desperate to start a family, heartbreak followed for the pair as Louise struggled to get pregnant. She was diagnosed with endometriosis, which can make it harder to conceive. But six years later, the loved-up couple welcomed their first son, Charley, before welcoming Beau in 2009 to complete their family of four.

Louise took a step back from the limelight to care for their children, while Jamie retired from the sport but carved out success as a presenter and pundit. Months after Louise’s stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, the much-loved showbiz couple dramatically parted ways.

Jamie went on to marry his now-wife Frida, with the two sharing an adorable son named Raphael, after meeting in 2020. Meanwhile, Eternals singer Louise moved on with businessman Drew Michael. She has shared glimpses into their relationship with sweet posts shared on her social media page.
