Katie Price has spoken out for the first time since being threatened with jail after failing to attend court. In a bid to promote her latest autobiography the star said: “I’ve learned not to be afraid.”

The 45-year-old mum-of-five was due to attend the High Court to provide evidence about her finances. Instead, posting a video of herself while on a photoshoot ahead of the release of her latest autobiography, Katie told fans that this book will be more insightful than her previous memoirs. She informed fans: “This book just tops all the others. For so many years I hide behind what I’ve learned the mask because that’s my way to deal with things. And it gets to a point where it becomes noise.”

She added: “I had my breakdown, the worst thing ever. And now I’ve come on top I’ve learned not to be afraid. And I think in this book people get to see really what it’s like to be me. There will be uplifting moments, dark moments, moments where I can put the truth right with a lot of things.” She then fist pumped the air and screamed: “She’s got her next book out.”

But while Katie seemed to be in high spirits, other areas of her life are less joyous. The reality TV star informed her lawyers at the last minute that she couldn’t attend court. According to The Sun, a barrister told the High Court judge: “It’s quite apparent that the evidence was filed very late and not even filed with the court. We are in a very serious situation as a consequence. She may be held in contempt of court, imprisoned, fined or a warrant issued for her arrest.”

Katie, who is currently dating Married At First Sight’s JJ Slater, was declared bankrupt for the second time last month over an unpaid tax bill amounting to £761,994.05. She was ordered to pay 40% of her OnlyFans earnings for the next three years as part of a separate issue.

A percentage of her income is being deducted from earlier this month. Katie was due to face a grilling over her finances during yesterday’s court appearance. The expectation was that she would show how she can pay off her debts. But this is not the first time Katie faced bankruptcy. Back in 2019 she had debts of £3.2million and was then declared bankrupt.

Katie now faces losing her £2million Sussex mansion, dubbed Muck Mansion, or face the humiliation of bailiffs. Last month Katie found herself in hot water once again and was fined £880 for driving without a licence or insurance. She was also ordered to pay £352 victim surcharge and £620 court costs, which amount to £1,852. The star was spotted on CCTV in a Range Rover last August in Kettering.
