Gary Goldsmith, Kate Middleton’s uncle, is rumoured to be joining the Celebrity Big Brother cast this year. He’s the younger brother of Carole Middleton and uncle to Kate, Pippa and James.
Gary, a painter and decorator’s son from West London and a miner’s grandson from a Durham pit village, has often been in the limelight but always defends his family when they’re criticised. He was a guest at the Royal wedding in 2011 and Pippa’s wedding in 2017.

Recently, after Netflix’s The Crown’s final series was released, Gary defended his sister Carole. The show suggested she had schemed to get Kate closer to Prince William.

When asked if he thought Carole would watch the show, he said: “I think the family is a bit too classy to watch stuff like that. But I would say, there’s probably someone taking notes, and saying, ‘They’ve said this.’ Gary then went on to praise his niece, saying she worked hard to get into St Andrew’s University on her own accord.
Gary praised his niece Kate for her hard work in getting into St. Andrew’s University. He shared with the hosts: “First and foremost, Kate did brilliantly well to get into St. Andrews. She’s an amazing, an amazing, an amazing girl, but that wasn’t noted.”
Gary made his fortune in the recruitment business. After finishing school, Gary started working as an IT operator. He quickly climbed the ranks at the IT recruitment firm Computer Futures, becoming a director and shareholder within just six months.
He enjoys a fancy lifestyle, owning properties in Central London and a secret spot on the Spanish island of Ibiza, once called Maison de Bang Bang. This place is special because it’s where Kate and William had a lovely holiday in 2006.
After it was announced that Gary is joining the famous show, a source told The Sun: “The CBB team love him because of his link to Kate and the fact that he’s confident and loud and won’t hold back.”
“He’s made it clear he will talk about everything and anything, and he’s pretty outspoken when it comes to Harry and Meghan. Gary also holds a deep affection for Kate and Wills and will be able to give a fascinating insight into what it’s really like being related to the future King and Queen.”
