Scott Swift, father of global pop icon Taylor Swift, finds himself at the center of controversy as police investigate allegations of assault against a paparazzi photographer in Sydney.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning at a ferry wharf in Neutral Bay, Sydney.
Photographer claims Scott Swift punched him
According to reports, Scott Swift, aged 71, allegedly assaulted Ben McDonald, a 51-year-old paparazzo, as he attempted to photograph the Swift family.
Witnesses claim that Scott Swift, affectionately known as ‘Papa Swift’, had been celebrating with his daughter Taylor following the conclusion of her highly successful Eras Tour in Australia.
The altercation is said to have occurred as the Swifts disembarked from a luxury superyacht called Quantum, having traveled from the venue of Taylor’s final Sydney show.
Mr. McDonald, recounting the incident, expressed his shock at being allegedly assaulted by Scott Swift, whom he initially mistook for a security guard.
Despite suffering soreness on the left side of his face, Mr. McDonald does not anticipate any lasting injuries.
