Holly Willoughby’s glamorous return to social media and rumoured new show

Holly Willoughby has made a very glamorous return to social media four months after quitting This Morning.

The 42-year-old has been looking better than ever since she stepped back into the limelight in January when she made her big TV comeback on Dancing on Ice, following weeks of speculation over her career.

But far from hiding away – despite being at the centre of a terrifying kidnap and murder plot for which a man has been arrested – mum-of-three Holly beamed in a silver floor-length gown. “And so it begins,” she teased on Instagram followed by an ice skate emoji.

Though Holly was always glam before, it’s fair to say she’s had a bit of a glow up since her This Morning days. Her blonde hair has been cut into a sleeker bob, she’s been wearing more dramatic make-up and seems playful with her outfit choices now she can dress up to present Dancing on Ice on Sunday nights alongside new sidekick Stephen Mulhern.

No doubt the ‘Holly 2.0’ look has been purposefully orchestrated in a bid to distance her from the Phillip Schofield scandal after her former best pal admitted an unwise, but not illegal affair with a much younger male colleague, signalling the end of their 14-year presenting career together.

Showing her famous friends have got her back, Holly has started posting more snaps with her showbiz pals too. One from January 17 showed her on a wild night out with Spice Girl Emma Bunton, All Saint Nicole Appleton and fellow TV presenter pal Christine Lampard. She captioned the post, which was liked 45,000 times: “Happiest of birthdays Baby! Wishing @emmaleeebunton a very happy (early) birthday… love ya!”

A few days later Holly shared another glam snap with Christine Lampard as she wished her pal a happy birthday. Wearing matching black velvet dresses – with Holly going for a strapless look and Christine a sleek halter neck – the gal pals looked to be living their best life as they giggled at the camera. Holly captioned the post: “Happy birthday to my beautiful friend @christinelampard… here’s to my fellow Aquarian! Love ya,” as they sipped cocktails.

In a possible attempt to prove there is no bad blood between her and her This Morning colleagues, Holly’s latest post saw her cosying up to former co-host Alison Hammond as she wished another famous pal a happy birthday.

Sharing a glammed up snap of her and Alison on a night out as her pal turned 49 today, Holly wrote: “Happiest of Birthdays to this Dream Queen… love ya @alisonhammond55 have a day as beautiful as you.”

And with rumours Holly is eyeing up jobs in the US after catching the attention of major brands, leaving This Morning could turn out to be the best thing that’s happened for her career.

It has been claimed that Holly, whose previous jobs include having been a panellist on Celebrity Juice and a presenter on The Xtra Factor, is being considered for roles stateside. It follows reports that Holly is also being lined up to host an I’m A Celebrity style show with Bear Grylls for streaming platform Netflix.

A source told The Sun: “Holly’s a free agent and for the first time in years she’s free to be courted by these huge streaming platforms. A number of US networks and production companies have been interested in her for a while and she’s caught the attention of some major brands. She has true star pulling power and as well as being glamorous is a polished professional in front of the camera. It’s an exciting time.”

The outlet suggested that it could present an opportunity for Holly to promote her lifestyle brand Wylde Moon, which launched in 2021 and has been compared to Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop. The source teased that launching herself stateside in the future could further help Holly follow in Gwyneth’s footsteps.

A move over to a huge channel like Netflix could also do big things for Holly’s future career and PR experts believe this could be a good move, not just for her career but her image too.

Rochelle White from Rochelle White Communications told Express.co.uk: “I feel that Holly is ready to step into something new when it comes to her career and TV personality. Having been associated with ITV This Morning for so long, I think she is ready to make a change. Also, with the show being on Netflix, it will open her up to new wider audiences. Her career could take a new turn and support her efforts in changing her image. This would be a good move for her financially, as there’s speculation that the shows Netflix commission pay well.” Holly is said to be “open to offers” and will be “carefully cherry-picking her next projects” but “won’t be rushing into anything”.
