Hollywood favourite Sofia Vergara has spoken out months after announcing her divorce from ex-husband Joe Manganiello.
The pair were married for seven years, publicly splitting in July 2023 by releasing a statement saying they were entering a “new phase”.
The actress best known for Modern Family shared that she had accepted the attention on her divorce, calling it a “part of being a celebrity”.

“You’re out there (in the public eye) and people know that’s part of being a celebrity,” Vergara told CBS Sunday Morning.
“I knew it was gonna happen. You can’t hide those things.”
Asked how she “overcame” the attention, she called the media interest “very respectful and very nice”.
“I thought that they were gonna invent more things, and you know how it usually is.
“I was surprised and, you know, they, they kind of just said what it was and, and that was it.”
Vergara and Manganiello confirmed the split to Page Six in a statement on July 17, 2023.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the statement began.
“As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
On the news, a source told the outlet at the time: “Sofia and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.”
The couple tied the knot in 2015 in front of 400 attendees, including Vegara’s Modern Family co-stars Ariel Winter, Ed O’Neill, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, Sarah Hyland and Ty Burrell, and actors Reese Witherspoon and Channing Tatum.
