Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have been centre of the spotlight after spilling the tea together at the annual Golden Globe Awards as they shared in “classic gossip” filled with “amused shock.”
As fans work to uncover exactly what Taylor and Selena gossiped about at the prestigious award show one body language expert assures that there was no “bad temper” or genuine underlying anger behind the exchange. As clips of the pair have gone viral, one lip reading expert concluded that Selena was explaining how Kylie Jenner reportedly refused to let her take a picture with her boyfriend actor Timotheé Chalamet amid their ongoing feud. As rumours spark that this was the case, body language expert Judi James gave her professional take on the theatrical interaction.
In the clip it appears that Selena said to Taylor: “I asked for a picture with him and she [Kylie] said no.” To which Taylor’s friend Keleigh then mouthed: “With Timothée?” to which Selena dramatically nodded. It was then suggested that Selena said: “Do you know what they said/did to me?” before Taylor eyes widened as she replied: “S**t, what the…” and later added: “Oh my God, love you,” and Selena replied: “Brought them back together.”

Although it remains unclear what juicy gossip was actually exchanged by the iconic duo, Judi assures their body language is clear as day as the friends seemed to have a great time with no one’s feelings being genuinely hurt. Judi explained: “If this is gossip it looks like classic gossip delivered in the best possible style between friends. With some clinging gestures; some overkill responses to ramp up the drama and fun, and some intensifying of the listening signals to show it’s done what good gossip does, which is to make the one with the news the centre of everyone’s avid attention.”
Judi explained that none of the body language signals between the pals seemed to be “bad tempered.” The expert explained that it was clear the pair were just indulging in friendly gossip as she would’ve expected Taylor to switch to a more “concerned mode” of body language if Selena was genuinely upset.

She added that the exchange showed the sweet, unbreakable bond between the two as Selena was seen hugging the Lavender Haze singer from behind creating “head closeness” that showed “how tight they are as friends.” Judi continued that after the embrace Taylor took a moment to study Selena’s face to check her “actual mood” before sharing her reaction. As Selena explained the situation Taylor indicated her interest by moving her ear closer to Selena’s mouth to catch every last word.
Judi continued: “It’s then when Taylor emerges with some hilarious, overkill reactions that make her look incredibly down-to-earth and natural. Her mouth falls open in mock shock and she even bites the air a few times in a gesture of amused shock,” And added: “Finally she begins to smile and her face falls into her hand in a cut-off that again acts out a delighted-looking, amused state of shock.”
Whatever what was said was it was clear that it was something to create a “shocked-mixed-with-laughter” response as Taylor was seen clinging onto her bestie’s arm as she confided in her. As Selena told the story her eyes seemed to be “gleaming” and her teeth looked to be “clenched” but she didn’t look “authentically angry” by the drama. Judging from Taylor’s response to the gossip it is clear that whatever it was is something that the friend group all found amusing.
