The former EastEnders star, who’s brother is I’m A Celeb winner Joe Swash, shared her pregnancy news earlier this year. Shana, who played Demi Miller for two years from 2004, posted a sweet photo of her fiance Nick Jones kissing her behind a baby scan. She declared: “PENDING….BABY JONES 5TH DECEMBER 2023.”

Shana was first introduced on EastEnders as pregnant 13-year-old Demi in 2004 alongside twin brother Darren – Charlie G Harvey – who later became Heather Trott’s baby daddy, half brother Mickey, half sister Dawn, mum Rosie and dad Keith. Demi gave birth to her daughter Aleesha just months later, but found it initially hard to bond with her baby, but later matured into a responsible mum.

Her character left the soap in 2006 after mum Rosie jilted Keith at the altar. Demi, Rosie and Aleesha left Albert Square for greener pastures. Since leaving the BBC soap, Shana has regularly appeared on stage – including in play Proud at the Above The Stag Theatre. She also appeared in 2016 film My Feral Heart, for which she received a BIFA Award nomination for Best Supporting actress.

More recently, she starred in an episode of daytime BBC drama series Doctors in 2018. Earlier this year Shana shared she now has her “dream” normal job. Whilst her brother Joe carried on the celeb lifestyle, Shana opted to “get out her comfort zone” and try something new.

She runs a pop-up coffee shop in Islington, London with her partner Nick and says she “loves every minute of it”. Shana hopes to expand her business Swash & Jones after wanting to own a coffee shop for 20 years. The soap star was just 13 when she took on the EastEnders role, but revealed she had to think long and hard about taking on the job.

“I had to be really grown up, sit down with my mum and work out if I could portray it and if it was something I wanted to do. I realised it was,” she told The Sun. Shana admitted she found her character’s axing “difficult to accept as a kid”, with viewers even setting up a petition to keep her on the show.

Regarding a comeback to Albert Square, she said: “Never say never but I’d need a really big bang storyline and for Demi to come back with a personality transplant and be a bit more horrible. If the timing was right… and my brother Joe was coming back with me, then 100 per cent I’d return to EastEnders.”

Joe made a brief return to EastEnders in 2011, when his character Mickey attended the wedding of little brother Darren, and has previously spoken about his desire to head back to Albert Square once again. “I’d definitely be interested in returning to EastEnders. If they ever phoned up, it would definitely be something I would think about,” Joe told BANGShowbiz, before insisting that Mickey’s family would have to come back too. “I think they need to bring back the whole family – the whole shabang – back, It would be nice to work with my sister Shana again.”
