I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’s Fred Sirieix has landed in hot water again after frustrating viewers of the ITV reality series with his negative reaction to Josie Gibson’s becoming camp chef.
The First Dates star, who is vying for the King of the Jungle title this season, has already fallen out with contestant Nella Rose over a comment he made about being old enough to be her father.
The YouTube personality, who has experienced family tragedy with the loss of both her parents, confronted Fred about the remark after sleeping on it and deciding she didn’t want to be around him anymore. “When I wanted to burn fat that you were going to throw away anyways, it’s not even something that we needed to survive in camp, you turned around to me, with an attitude and said, ‘You know I could be your dad, right?” she said.

After Fred apologised for the comment, most viewers seemed to side with him and criticize Nella for being oversensitive. It didn’t help matters that the 26-year-old refused to be friends with her French campmate after the showdown, despite being willing to forgive him. However, many I’m A Celebrity fans have now turned against Fred in light of his reaction to new camp leader Nella appointing Josie Gibson as camp chef. Fred, who previously held the role but has now been placed on pot-washing duty, quickly clashed with the This Morning presenter over her cooking methods, arguing, “There is a way to cook the rice. If not, the rice tastes bitter and it’s really unpleasant in the morning, so hopefully they’ll get it right.”

The 52-year-old’s fixation on the rice frustrated Nella, who insisted, “It’s just rice. I’m not going crazy, it’s just rice. I’m going back to sleep.” The conflict comes just days after she asked Fred if they were living in a “camp or a dictatorship”, after he complained that Josie and Nella’s dishwashing standard was unacceptable.
Fans took to the social media platform X to vent their annoyance at Fred’s behaviour, with many Lesley said: “Aw I can’t cope with Fred and I’m not even in there!” Meanwhile, Kat said, “Fred is driving me ABSOLUTELY INSANE” while Cait wrote, “Fred’s genuinely making me want to switch off. this is getting boring now.” A fourth irritated viewer said that the Channel 4 star was giving them “anxiety,” while another admitted, “Fred has been rubbing me the wrong way the past few episodes! just because you can cook doesn’t mean others can’t.”
