Jamie Lynn Spears breaks her silence after leaving I’m A Celebrity camp

Jamie Lynn Spears has revealed she will spending time with her family following her early exit from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! this week.

The younger sister of Britney Spears took to social media today to address her departure from the ITV series and admit she will be taking some “time to recover” before speaking further about her time in the jungle.

Jamie Lynn became the second celebrity to leave the star-studded camp this week, with MasterChef and food critic Grace Dent the first famous camper to cut their time on the reality TV show short and catch an early flight home. While Grace left her campmates a letter to read after her departure, Jamie Lynn’s exit was slightly more mysterious.

A spokesperson for I’m A Celebrity said yesterday: “Jamie Lynn Spears has left I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds. She’s been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities.” Sources on the show said the singer’s exit was linked to her missing her family. One claimed: “She has been struggling physically and mentally for some time. If you look back even last week this is not a complete surprise by any means.”

Viewers last night watched the rest of the celebrity campmates be told the Zoey 101 actress would not be returning to camp. Taking to Instagram today, Jamie Lynn broke her silence regarding her exit.

She told her Instagram followers: “I can’t wait to share with y’all everything about this once in a lifetime experience, but I don’t even know where to start when trying to describe what an incredibly special time and place I had with some of the absolute best humans I have ever met and consider family now.

“Thank yall for welcoming me into your living rooms night after night, and for supporting me through all the highs and lows. I’m am so grateful for this show, and all of the wonderful people apart of it! I will be taking some time to recovery and spend time with my family, but looking forward to sharing all about my journey on @imacelebrity with everyone! Love yallll.”

Prior to Jamie’s exit, she had raised concerns that she was ready to quit. During Tuesday night’s episode, she became increasingly upset when Sam Thompson likened her to the boy who cried wolf. Speaking to Sam, Jamie said: “I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it here. This place is where people go to have the worst days of their lives. Dear God, please help me to make it. I think I’ve got to leave, I think I’ve got to leave.”

Made In Chelsea star Sam responded that she was “the girl who cried wolf.” Enraged by his comments, the star hit back saying: “I’m not the girl who cried wolf, I’m speaking honestly about my emotions.” Sam hit back adding: “You’re never leaving, you’re going to be here longer than we are.” But Jamie Lynn was not impressed as she quipped: “I’m not crying wolf, I mean it every single time I say I want to leave!”
