Nella Rose sparked fears she might quit I’m A Celebrity after she was pulled from camp by medics.
The YouTuber and Catfish UK star, 26, was set to take on a Bushtucker trial called In Too Deep. However, on Tuesday night during the live broadcast, Ant and Dec revealed Nella had been made exempt from the trial at the last minute, after the public vote had been cast. Dec, 48, explained: “Now, unfortunately, Nella is being seen by the medic so she’ll be back later but it means she is now exempt from today’s trial.”
They then headed into camp to reveal Nigel Farage and Nick Pickard were chosen to take part in the next trial. In Tuesday night’s episode. Nella showed no signs of illness before the announcement, but an ITV spokesman said: “For medical reasons, Nella Rose is being treated by the show’s on site medics and will be returning to camp shortly. As a result, she is exempt from the next trial.”

However, it was later confirmed by ITV that Nella had returned to camp. In a new statement an ITV spokesman said: “During last night’s live broadcast, Nella Rose required medical treatment on site and was deemed unable to take part in the trial. Nella has since rejoined camp.”
Viewers were quick to accuse Nella of seeking medical assistance in an effort to get out of the trial. They also fumed over their “wasted votes” and branded her exemption as a “fix”. However, in a further update a friend of Nella hit back at the claims, branding the speculation “unfair” and “untrue”. They told The Mirror: “The idea that she was faking or trying to get out of the trial is unfair and untrue. It was a minor medical emergency and it happened just before the show.
“They had to take her off to get looked at and couldn’t get her back in time for the trial reveal.” Some fans even thought Nella could be preparing to quit the ITV show, like her campmate Grace Dent. The food critic had looked pale and a shadow of herself on Sunday night’s show and said on camera “I just want to go home”.
On Monday morning, a spokesperson for the ITV confirmed Grace’s premature exit from the show. They said: “Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike.”
Ahead of Nella’s removal from camp, the star had struggled in a trial with Frankie Dettori. She teamed up with the jockey to take on the Bushtucker trial, but the pair ended up getting no stars for camp. Ant and Dec fumed over their performance as Nella and Frankie went back to camp empty handed.
“I’m just going to say it. I’m not angry – I’m furious! How did they do such a terrible job? He is weakly shouting something, she hasn’t got a strategy….. not a single coin? What on earth is wrong with these people?,” fumed Ant. Dec told him: “You need to calm down!” and tried some breathing techniques to keep his pal quiet.
