Nick Pickard’s partner arrives in Australia as first I’m A Celeb eviction looms

Nick Pickard’s partner has arrived in Australia ahead of the first star being voted out of camp in this year’s series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Sarah Corrin, the Hollyoaks legend’s long-term girlfriend, arrived at Brisbane Airport earlier today with a huge smile on her face as she prepares to be reunited with her man within the coming days. Sarah looked chic as she pushed her luggage through the airport, wearing a long beige coat and Ugg boots on her travels.

Speaking at Brisbane Airport after she flew in to support him, Sarah said: “I’m dead proud and I’m just glad people are getting to see the Nick part of him and not Tony. I’ve seen him to do some of the challenges but I’ve still yet to see him do a Bushtucker Trial. And all my friends and family are like what shall we do. And I say vote! Vote! And they’re like you’re not meant to vote him in and I’m like we are! I think he’d enjoy it!”

Going on to talk about Nick’s hunger, which he was also worried about prior to going into camp, she added: “Do you know what the biggest surprise to me is that I haven’t seen him have a hunger tantrum. He is the most positive upbeat person you’ll ever meet but don’t mess with him and his food. So I haven’t really seen that so far. And when people are going off for the Trials he’s like ‘Don’t worry if you don’t get all the stars’ but I know on the inside he’s like inside, ‘You have to get all the stars’.

“I always knew he would do well in there. I’ve always wanted him to do it. His main concern was hunger. I tried to prep him with the intermittent fasting – sandwiches from the fridge and the rest. I’m really surprised that he hasn’t been more about the food.” She is hoping to relax on the Gold Coast for a week and then see her partner crowned king of the jungle.

She said: “I think he’s definitely got a good chance of winning. I’ve heard a lot of people say we’ve not seen enough of him on the screen but, yeah, he is what he’s like in person – just genuinely down to earth.”

Prior to heading into the jungle, Nick revealed how Sarah had been preparing him for life sleeping under the stars and being limited to basic rations. “My missus is always having to go because she says sometimes I’ve been asleep for a little bit and then I wake up and then I cannot get back to sleep before I’ve gone and made myself some food,” the soap star explained.

The Tony Hutchinson actor went on to reveal: “So for the last sort of months, she’s really been trying to snap it out of me. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting, so just trying to not eat like throughout the day and even that’s been tough.”

Sarah’s arrival in Australia comes I’m A Celebrity viewers get the chance to vote out a star and cut their time in camp short, following Grace Dent’s shock departure on medical grounds on Monday. The MasterChef star, 50, was pictured at Brisbane Airport hours after ITV announced on Monday morning that she was exiting the reality show early. During that night’s update from the jungle, viewers watched as Grace’s message to her fellow campers was revealed.

Nick was the one to read out the letter from Grace on Monday night’s instalment of I’m A Celebrity. “My dear campmates, I’m so sorry to let you down. I have left the camp for medical reasons,” Grace’s emotional letter to the celebrity camp began. “My heart is broken, I have loved and enjoyed getting to know you all. You’ve held me up and it’s been a pleasure being your friend through this experience. Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life. I love you all. Your friend, Miss Grace Dent.”

YouTube star Nella Rose is tipped to be the first start to be evicted from camp later this week thanks to the Catfish presenter’s row with Fred Sirieix still irking ITV viewers. Nella is favourite to get the boot from I’m A Celebrity viewers when lines open, with Britney Spears’ little sister Jamie Lynn next in line when it comes to predictions from bookies.
