I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers were concerned for a star after a tick burrowed into their arm.
On Thursday, fans watched in horror as First Dates star Fred Sirieix was shown with a tick burrowed into his arm. The cameras zoomed in on the arachnid while Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson got excited over the incident. He took to the diary room to say it ‘burrowed its head into his skin’ and ‘the face was in there just sucking on his blood’.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly interrupted the live show to tell concerned fans that Fred was fine before making a joke about the tick turning French. Ant then reassured viewers at home: “Fred was checked after having that tick removed and was absolutely fine.”
Viewers were distressed and rushed to social media to comment on the incident. One shocked user posted: “Is Fred not going to do something about that tick then?! I’d be stressing,” while another questioned: “Is Fred not going to be at risk from Lymes Disease with that tick?”
One person said: “you can’t pull out Ticks??? I promise I’d vomit,” while another commented: “I had no idea they got ticks there!! That would put me off even if they offered a million quid. Seriously they are so dangerous.” It comes as Fred and Nella Rose seemingly made up after a major row left viewers lost for words.
The duo took part in the Slam Dunk’d challenge and embraced and cheered as they went up against Nick Pickard and Marvin Humes. Nella also said: “I think we were an absolutely great team, I think we smashed it.” Days before, Fred found himself in a spat with the YouTuber, who felt “disrespected” and “offended” by comments he made amid her family losses.

The disagreement started when Fred joked that he was old enough to be Nella’s father due to their age difference, which upset Nella because her father had passed away. In the Bush Telegraph, she said: “I didn’t say anything about it last night because I was kind of just annoyed about it.”
Nella, who was defended by fans as she was hit by vile social media abuse, continued: “So I slept on it and I kind of thought about it and I was just like, this is not the kind of person I want to be around”, before confronting Fred in camp about his remarks. Fred was taken aback when Nella said: “You know that my mum’s dead, and you know that my dad’s dead. You know that, right?”
She also accused him of having an attitude whenever she wanted to do things her way, especially around the fire. Fred tried to apologise, saying: “I am so sorry. Can I just say? First of all, I am sorry I’ve offended you,” he added, “I am unaware that what I said would lead to this conversation, I only said that in a way because I am older than you, I am 51 and you’re 26.”
