Fred again, Liam Gallagher, Blink-182, Gerry Cinnamon, Lana Del Ray and Catfish and the Bottlemen are set to headline Reading and Leeds Festivals, it has been announced.

Meanwhile, Raye, Skrillex, Spiritbox and Digga D will also be taking to the stage across the four-day event. Liam’s appearance will come amidst his upcoming Definitely Maybe tour, celebrating t30 years of the iconic Oasis album.

Although it may be his first time performing at Reading and Leeds, Fred has become the first electronic artist to bring the festival to a close. In recent months, he’s left fans across the globe speechless with performances at Madison Square Garden in New York, as well as Glastonbury.

Speaking about being announced, Liam Gallagher said: “I’m gonna be playing Reading & Leeds the most RnR festivals we have left in the UK. Be there or be square LGx.” Meanwhile, Gerry Cinnamon added: “Reading and Leeds. Last time was absolutely f***ing bananas. Was the first gig straight out of lockdown, heavily emotional. Headlining now so we’ll take it up another level again. Buzzing to be back. See you there.”

In recent weeks, speculation had been continuing to grow over who would be taking to the stages across the weekend but bosses have finally revealed part of the line-up. Tickets for the two festivals have also been taken offline and are expected to go live for sale once again in the new year.

It had previously been widely speculated that rockers Blink-182 would be headlining due to the gap in their upcoming touring schedule across the United Kingdom in August. Fans will flock to Richfield Avenue in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds between August 21 and August 25, 2024.

Meanwhile, record producer, DJ and singer Fred Again had already dropped a massive hint that he would be one of the headline acts. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, he shared two Stories for his fans, one reading: “The only UK festivals I am playing next year is the first festival I ever went to,” before the text cut off. He added: “I wasn’t on purposefully teasing. Well, I was but not in that bit.”

Over 240,000 visitors are expected to flock to the two festivals – making both Reading and Leeds the biggest UK festival which is dedicated just to music.

Festival boss, Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic commented: “We are thrilled to announce the first wave of artists for Reading & Leeds 2024. I am very proud that the biggest artists in the world choose to play Reading & Leeds and to have three incredible UK festival exclusives – the electrifying Fred again.., a true generational talent Lana Del Rey and the legendary Blink-182. The iconic Liam Gallagher will return to play an all-time classic album ‘Definitely Maybe’ which will be a special moment indeed.

“We pride ourselves on nurturing artists from the early stages in their careers, so to see acts like Catfish and the Bottlemen rising through the festival to headline for the second time is very rewarding. 2023 was a hugely successful year for attendance and sensational audience feedback, and we are eager to build upon this success even further at the UK’s biggest and best music festival.”

Fans have since had their say on X, formerly known as Twitter, with one writing: “Catfish and the Bottlemen what the f**k!!” A second penned: “IM GONNA SCREAM.” Before another exclaimed: “IM GONNA DIE.” One typed: “YOU SEXY FESTIVAL.”

Although tickets have recently been taken offline, fans don’t have long to wait as the general sale drops on Thursday, November 30 at 8.30am. Tickets for Reading Festival are available here while those heading to Leeds can get their hands on tickets here.
