Nella Rose may be facing Bushtucker Trials and testing conditions in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, but after an extremely tough few years, it looks like there’s nothing the YouTube star can’t handle.
The 26-year-old has gained whole new fanbase since joining the gritty ITV reality series, after folks flocked to the Internet to find out all about her background. Hailing originally from Belgium, Nella moved to the UK with her family at the age of seven. She quickly proved her talent for presenting after rising to fame on YouTube, becoming a co-host on Catfish UK and even launching her own podcast. However, amidst these career highs, Nella has suffered a number of tragic events.
The fashion ambassador lost her father in May 2020, announcing the heart-breaking news to her Instagram followers with the following post:” Rest in Peace Daddy. watching you suffer for the past month has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life but at least you’re not in pain anymore.” Nella also vowed to make her late father “the proudest dad ever in the years to come because I know you’re still by [my] side every step of the way.”

Nella also lost her mother aged 19 in 2016, the same year she launched her YouTube channel. “She literally died in my arms…It’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to me in my life. I’m still not over it, I’m pretty sure I’ll never get over it. I do not see myself healing from it any time soon,” she said in 2018 video. “I will not cry on camera. I will not be that YouTuber who cries on camera.”
Nella has previously spoken being evicted from her family’s council house along with her older brother while she was still in university, shortly after her mother died. “My plan was to live in my parents’ house till I was 25,” she said. “We weren’t even on the waiting list for a council flat…We were given a 30 day notice to leave.”

She moved to university residence in Leicester, where she was studying for a degree in sociology, and was forced to leave behind many of her mother’s possessions in the house. “Everything that reminds you of them, you want to keep for life,” she said. “Everything about my mum’s room was left untouched…We lost so much memories from living in that house. That really upset me….I was basically homeless.”
Despite looking like she was thriving to the outside world, Nella admitted that she was struggling tremendously during this dark period. “In reality, I was homeless living out of a suitcase, living from couch to couch and bed to bed,” she admitted.
