It looks like Jamie Lynn Spears hasn’t got off to the best of starts on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and is kicking off with a major disadvantage.
The actress, sibling of Toxic hitmaker Britney Spears, joins the star-studded line-up of famous faces taking part in this year’s jungle series launching tonight (November 19). She takes part in one of the first tasks but isn’t a fan-favourite off the bat.
Jamie-Lynn joins TV personality Sam Thompson, This Morning’s Josie Gibson, First Dates’ Fred Sirieix, YouTuber Nella Rose, former politician Nigel Farage, food critic Grace Dent, JLS star Marvin Humes, EastEnders legend Danielle Harold, Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard as they head into the jungle for tonight’s show on at 9pm.

Ahead of the live launch with Ant and Dec, bookies have weighed in on the potential winners of this year’s series. As things stand, Josie Gibson will head into the jungle as the 3/1 favourite to go all the way, with Fred Sirieix second in the betting at 4/1 ahead of Nigel Farage and Sam Thompson (both 5/1).
Elsewhere, Jamie Lynn Spears has it all to do, according to the latest odds, and is the least likely name to be crowned this year’s winner, at odds of 33/1. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are seemingly in agreement that Josie Gibson is very much the one to beat Down Under, with the This Morning star streets ahead in the popularity charts as things stand.”

Tonight’s show gets off to a grim start tonight with three celebrities getting stuck into the first Bushtucker Trial of the series – and it’s not for the faint-hearted. First up Marvin, Nick and Jamie Lynn must face a nerve-jangling skydive. But that’s not all as the trio are then thrust straight into the very first Trial of the series- entitled Temple of Doom.
A newly released trailer shows the new co-stars tied up and locked in glass as they take on a jungle-themed spelling test as bugs are dropped on them from above. Hollyoaks actor Nick appears to have drawn the short straw as he is forced to collect the stars using his mouth while avoiding an array of creepy crawlies including huge spiders.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns for series 23 in Australia tonight on ITV. Heading back Down Under, award-winning hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are back in action for another series of Bushtucker Trial-filled fun.
