Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden welcome ‘really cute’ baby boy with adorable name

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have welcomed their second baby.

The actress and Good Charlotte’s lead guitarist announced that they had welcomed a “really cute” baby boy in an Instagram posy on Friday. In a joint post, the two wrote: “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here!” They continued: “For the kids safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures- but he’s a really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our fam to yours. Best wishes and Good Afternoon!!”

The post included a drawing that read, “A little bird whispered to me.” Cameron and Benji are also parents to their daughter Raddix, who was born on December 30, 2019. This is the couples second child. They got married in January 2015 after officially “meeting” at a party hosted by Cameron at her house when he accompanied her friends Nicole Richie and Joel Madden in May 2014. They confirmed they were engaged in December 2014.

His brother Josh and Joel Madden commented under the post with a bunch of heart emojis. Fall Out Boy member, Pete Wentz, also commented with a bunch of sparkle emojis.

Fans of both the actress and musician also commented under the post, congratulating the couple. One person wrote: “Omg congratulations I’m so happy for you and your family [red heart emoji].” Another person wrote: “Oh we needed some good news today!! Happy for you beyond the moon.” A third person wrote: “Congratulations! Adorable announcement, love the picture.” Many others also said they liked the name Cardinal, some called it “cool.

In October 2023, Cameron revealed that Benji is the “best dad” when she was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She said: “He’s like, Benj at home, being the best dad ever and running all of his businesses, and then he just gets up there [on stage] and he’s like, ‘Yeah, all right, pyro! Pfft.'”

Cameron also shared that Benji enjoys singing to their daughter and make up kids songs. She said: “They play in my head [songs] all the time because he sings them to her and she knows the words. And it’s the sweetest thing ever. It really is. It’s so…it kills me.”
