Madonna took her twin adopted daughters on a holiday to their birthplace in Africa.

The chart-topping Vogue songstress enjoyed a sweet family getaway to Malawi alongside Estere and Stella, both aged 11. She has adopted four children and has returned to the country on several occasions over the last few years.

She documented the latest trip with a snap on Instagram, giving her 19million followers a glimpse inside the visit for her non-profit organisation Raising Malawi, aimed at helping local vulnerable children. Madonna posed up a storm alongside her twins, wearing matching black shirts, jackets and mirrored camouflage trousers.

The sweet family smiled for a photograph, joined by other local children. Madonna adopted her son David all the way back in 2006 when he was just 13-months-old. She adopted Mercy in 2007 aged four and adopted the twins in 2017. They’d be living in the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji, Malawi for two years.

Only recently, while on stage during her Celebration tour, Madonna revealed she was “saved” by her children. She also shares Lourdes Leon, 27, with her ex Carlos Leon and Rocco Ritchie, 23, with her ex-husband, filmmaker Guy Ritchie.

“It’s such an honour for me to not only perform with my children every night on the stage but also pay tribute to his mother and hopefully everyone’s mother. We all have motherly connections with one way or another,” she said while performing at the O2.

“My children always say to me, ‘Thank you mom for giving us a better life’, and I say to them, ‘No you, you saved me’. In these dark and crazy times, we have to remember that even if our heart is breaking, they cannot break our souls,” Madonna added. Each and every one of us have the opportunity to turn our light on, we are each a candle in the world, so take the opportunity to be a light in the world and you will make a difference.”

The Grammy-winning singer mentioned in a recent interview that motherhood had been the “hardest” and “most difficult” job of her life. In a chat with Vanity Fair in January, she explained: “Having children and raising them is a work of art.

And no one gives you a manual. You have to learn from mistakes… And it is exhausting because there is never rest,” she explained. She’d announced the twins’ adoption on her social media, writing: “I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time.”
