Louis Walsh’s real name has come as a huge shock to Celebrity Big Brother viewers.

The former X Factor judge is not actually called Louis Walsh with his parents Maureen and Frank giving him a different name when he was born in Kiltimagh, Ireland, in 1952. The music manager was born Michael Louis Vincent Walsh.

Louis dropped his first name when and went on to carve out a career in the music industry when he moved to Dublin with a desire to create an Irish version of Take That. Louis formed Boyzone – who he managed to international success – before going on to create Westlife, who also enjoyed worldwide success.

The X Factor icon is now stirring up trouble in the Big Brother house and has already been called out for “incredibly rude” comment to housemate Lauren Simon over bed allocations. A source close to the Mirror revealed that this upfront attitude should come as no surprise to viewers.

“Everyone loves Louis and they’ll see him for the fun, big hearted and spirited person that he is in the Big Brother house,” they said. “But the thing you have to remember about Louis is that he’ll say it how it is and if he’s doesn’t like something, he won’t hold back. He’ll be entertaining and I expect he’ll do really well.”

Ahead of entering into Celebrity Big Brother, Louis explained why he decided to sign up to the ITV show. He said: “Why not! I’m not getting any younger and I just want to have fun so when the opportunity for this came up I thought let’s do it.”

The former X Factor judge revealed he was looking forward to “having fun and meeting some nice people”, but is wary of “sharing a bedroom with so many other people, I’ve not done that since boarding school, and I hated it then”.

Meanwhile, in Wednesday’s episode, the result of Sharon Osbourne’s eviction decision will be revealed. Sharon and Louis were reunited on Monday’s launch, tasked with observing their fellow housemates as they entered their new home.

Sharon previously narrowed her decision down to Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith, YouTuber Zeze Millz and reality star David Potts. In a sneak peak for tonight’s episode, Sharon nominates Gary after pulling the trio for chats individually throughout the day.

“It does bother me what the public perception of me is. The black sheep of the family. I’m a normal bloke. It just so happens that my niece married Will,” Gary tells Sharon before the nomination while Zeze warns the X Factor star she’s received “a lot of backlash online” because of her strong opinions.

Elsewhere, David tells Sharon he wasn’t surprised to learn he was in the firing line. He says: “I wasn’t shocked at all because I’ve had this quite a lot in my life. On first impressions, people are a bit like ‘woo, he’s just dying for attention’ when that is just not the case.”

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
