Australia Zoo’s beloved family have welcomed new members into their home following Robert Irwin’s split from Rorie Buckey.The young Irwin’s mother Terri, took to Instagram at the weekend to announce the latest three new family members to join their clan.However, it’s no surprise the new recruits are three small brown chickens.“Our new Jurassic chickens. Meet Waffle, Mochi, and Cindy. Training is going well.🐔🦖,” Terri wrote.The photo showed Robert recreating a scene from Jurassic World in which velociraptor handler Owen Grady attempts to get the dinosaurs to back away when a staffer accidentally falls into their paddock.A second photo in the post shows the original scene.The chicken welcoming comes just days after the shock announcement Robert and his Perth-born girlfriend Rorie had broken up after one year.Sharing a statement to their legion of fans, the couple revealed on Saturday they had decided to end their relationship.The statement read: “We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all of the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future.“We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue journeys on different paths.“We won’t be commenting further on this, and really appreciate your respect and privacy at this time.“— Robert and Rorie.”Irwin, 20, and Buckey, 19, were thought to have been together since November 2022 — although their relationship was made “official” after revealing they had begun dating in August 2023.While the pair are still following each other on social media, Robert has since deleted any trace of Rorie from his Instagram account and she has made her account private.Irwin himself revealed in the early days of January that he could see a future with Buckey, who is the niece of late actor Heath Ledger.“R + R. Thanks for making my 2023 so bright. To many years ahead ❤️”, he said in an Instagram post.
