Liam Payne has died after falling from the third floor of a hotel balcony in Argentina, local newspaper La Nacion has reported.
The Argentine newspaper said the tragic incident occurred at the hotel he was staying in Buenos Aires, with several witnesses claiming he fell from his hotel balcony.
Liam, 31, rose to fame on the UK X Factor, where he auditioned for two separate years before he was picked to join Simon Cowell’s group One Direction.
This was formed in 2010 alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson.
After the group went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016, Payne launched his own solo career with singles like Strip That Down and For You.
Recently, Liam has been working on new music projects, with fans eagerly awaiting the releases.
However, his health had become a concern forcing him to cancel planned shows and events throughout 2023 and 2024.
In September 2023, Liam was hospitalised due to a severe kidney infection while on holiday in Italy.
