Jenna Dewan appears to be feeling a kinship with a famous divorcee after her six-year divorce proceedings finally ended. The Step Up actress, 43, posted a picture to her Instagram story on Thursday, September 26 that has become an emblem for many — Nicole Kidman, with her hands outstretched and eyes facing the sky, after finalizing her divorce from Tom Cruise.
The famous 2001 photo emphasizes how happy Dewan must be feeling to be finished finalizing her divorce from actor Channing Tatum. The couple signed their divorce papers on Tuesday, September 24, and the following day she posted a selfie with the caption, “Thank you universe.”

The pair announced their separation in 2018 after more than 10 years together — they met while filming Step Up in 2006, and married in 2008. Dewan and Tatum share a daughter, Everly, who is 11 years old. She and the Deadpool and Wolverine star have shared 50/50 custody of Everly since 2020, according to the Daily Mirror. It seems it was less easy to determine custody of the money from the Magic Mike franchise, which is what made their divorce so complicated.

Reportedly, Tatum co-financed the 2012 film with director Steven Soderbergh while he and Dewan were still married, and there were disagreements over how much of the profit she was entitled to. The details of the settlement are unknown.
It’s safe to say both actors moved on from their relationship well before they moved on from their marriage. In the six years since their separation, Dewan has had two children with her fiancé Steve Kazee — Callum, 4, and baby Rhiannon, who was born in June 2024. The Rookie actress joked to Jennifer Hudson in March of 2024 that she and Kazee had been “engaged forever.” Tatum, meanwhile, is engaged to actor and director Zoë Kravitz, who he apparently met during the casting process for her movie Blink Twice. They announced their engagement in October 2023.
