In a move that Tess Coleman herself would surely appreciate, Jamie Lee Curtis is getting protective of her upcoming sequel film Freakier Friday. The Oscar-winning actress didn't pull any punches in an Instagram post Thursday calling out paparazzi for taking candid shots of her and costar Lindsay Lohan filming scenes for the much-anticipated movie. "OK. Because other outlets have posted it, I am going to take advantage of the intrusion of a paparazzi picture into the creative process of filmmaking," Curtis began the caption to the post, which featured one such snap of the two stars embracing on a beach. "We have tried so hard to keep our story a secret and private until it's time for release but once in a while an image comes out, and it doesn't tell you anything about the story or about what's going on with the characters but it does show the joy and fun that we had making #FREAKIERFRIDAY and we know it will be the experience that you will have in the theaters next year." The place we all go and enjoy a shared experience in the dark while munching popcorn and candy and laughing together and sometimes crying together. Until then…" Lohan, who was tagged in the post, liked and commented with a series of heart emojis. Freakier Friday is the long-awaited sequel to the 2003 hit Freaky Friday, which followed the mother-daughter pair Tess (Curtis) and Anna Coleman (Lohan) as they unintentionally switched bodies on one very freaky Friday. The sequel — and its switches — are "way freakier," Curtis teased to Entertainment Weekly earlier this month at the Disney confab D23. "It's a movie about life," the Halloween actress mused. "The first movie was about love and loss and life, and this is just freakier. It's more loving, more emotional." "Anna is grown-up now," Lohan also teased to EW. "She has a teenage daughter, so there's a lot going on in that relationship. Although Anna has calmed down a bit since she was a teenager." In addition to Lohan and Curtis, Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, Christina Vidal, Haley Hudson and Rosalind Chao are returning for the sequel. New faces will include Once Upon a Time in Hollywood's Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons (Under Wraps), Never Have I Ever star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Manny Jacinto (The Good Place and The Acolyte), whom EW confirmed will play Anna's husband. Curtis and Lohan have both previously shared updates on the making of the film to their social media accounts. Earlier Thursday, Curtis also announced that the movie had wrapped filming. "It's a WRAP! #freakierfriday @disneystudios," she wrote alongside a bleary-eyed selfie. "Mommy was up way effing past her bedtime. No filter. Little sleep. Lots of laughs and a little blood, much sweat and copious tears. We made it for all of you and I can't wait for you to see it and I'm thrilled to have been reunited with @lindsaylohan and get to watch new talents form and expand, @julia_butters @thesophiahammons under the leadership of @nisha.ganatra."
