Gru and the Minions continue to dominate the weekend box office, while two new movies debut in the top five.
Despicable Me 4 starring the voice of Steve Carell held onto first place at the weekend box office, earning an additional $44.7 million for a two-week domestic total of $211.1 million.
The horror movie Longlegs starring Maika Monroe as a police detective and Nicolas Cage as a serial killer debuted strongly in second place, taking in an estimated $22.6 million.
Inside Out 2 slipped one spot to third place, taking in another $20.7 million for an outstanding five-week domestic haul of $572.6 million.
A Quiet Place: Day One starring Lupita Nyong’o as a woman caught in an alien invasion in NYC took in another $11.8 million for a three-week domestic total of $116.2 million. Click here to read our review.
Rounding out the top five was Fly Me to the Moon starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, earning $10 million in its opening weekend.
