Elton John ‘peed in plastic bottle’ in middle of shoe shop, claims owner

Sir Elton John reportedly got caught short in France.

The Don’t Go Breaking My Heart hitmaker allegedly peed in a plastic bottle after browsing for shoes in Nice. The 77-year-old stopped into the Sugarkikz shop on Monday with his two sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, according to the owner.

Outlet owner Ryan Sukkar tells TMZ that Elton’s bodyguard asked him if there was a public restroom – but there wasn’t a nearby toilet. According to Sukkar, Elton allegedly turned to his minder, requesting a bottle before stepping away from the view of shoppers.

He “began taking a leak in the receptacle”, per TMZ who reports that Elton “got some pee on the floor” before he “asked his security for a towel” to “clean up the mess”. Ryan told the website he was “shocked and frustrated” by Elton’s antics and that it was the first time anyone had ‘peed in a bottle’ in his three years running the footwear business.

The singer was reportedly asked what he did for a living, before replying “I’m Elton John”. Ryan then used Google to work out who the chart-topping musician was before Elton purchased two pairs of trainers for his kids shared with husband David Furnish. The musician posed for a picture inside Sukkar’s store before shaking his hand, leaving on a positive note after the potentially awkward bathroom ordeal.

It comes after reports Elton previously came up with a savage nickname for David and Victoria Beckham after learning about their alleged behaviour on his yacht. In Tom Bower’s book, The House of Beckham, the couple’s marriage and David’s alleged affair are explored along with claims about Posh and Becks’ relationship with the Royal family, particularly their bond with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

It was claimed Elton branded the couple “Takeums” after they failed to tip his staff when they joined him on his yacht. Last month, the Sunday Times Rich list put the couple’s net worth at £455million. The Mirror has contacted David and Elton’s reps for comment.

Elton has been close friends with Posh Spice for three decades and famously made a quick cameo in the 1997 Spice World movie. Victoria once revealed she was inspired to leave the Spice Girls by Elton in an emotional letter she wrote to her future self, stating watching him made her realise singing and dancing wasn’t for her. The pals are so close and Elton has enjoyed many holidays with the Beckham family. The Beckham children even refer to the Rocket Man singer as Uncle Elton – with David once jokingly warning ‘Watch out uncle’ while sharing a video of son Cruz’s impressive piano-playing skills.
