Jeremy Clarkson has issued an update on filming for series four of his hit Amazon Prime show – but fans were distracted and pointed out a key thing that was “missing”.
The former Top Gear presenter, 64, shared a clip of the Clarkson’s Farm film crew gathered around a large TV screen as he captioned the post: “Busy filming Clarkson’s Farm 4.” The men were gathered around, with their cameras and other filming equipment to hand, as they watched England take on Switzerland in the Euros 2024 competition.
However, some commenters noticed something amiss with the post as they shared their thoughts. One social media user wrote: “No Hawkstone, no Gerald. I think I’m looking at imposters (like that one movie where some German paratroopers took over a town and pretended to be British)”.
Another wrote: “Why havent they got any hawkstone in hand!!!!” A third asked: “Men hard at work, where’s the @hawkstone?”
Someone else added: “Sport in the pub.. Not on the Hawkstone yet?” Another user penned: “I hope they’ve all got a hawkstone to watch the game with.”
The filming update comes as Jeremy was handed the keys to his very own pub at the weekend, branding it a “dream”. Writing in his column for the Sunday Times, the farmer wrote: “I just needed the pub where all this could happen, and then after I’d looked at about 14,000, I found just the place. Old, Cotswoldy and sitting in five acres of its own land.”
While he appears optimistic about the endeavour, he told his Instagram followers they should not expect the doors will open any time soon.
Sharing a picture of his Sunday Times piece, he wrote in a caption: “In case you missed it. I’ve bought a pub, even though everyone advised against it. It’s about 20 mins away from the shop, with staggering views.”
He later added a second update as he wrote: “We have much work to do, so will let you know when we can open.”
The presenter has hinted at a 2025 opening, adding: “It’s entirely possible that I won’t get the place mended and open until the icy hand of winter has descended which means I’ll have 80 people to pay every week, a quagmire for a car park and no customers because – as I’ve been told time and again – people just don’t go to country pubs any more.”
Earlier today, Jeremy posted to his Instagram showing a number of Hawkstone beer pumps as he wrote: “New pub coming along. Only the water, gas, lavatories, staff and electrics to sort and we’ll be ready to go.”
