Kerry Katona has revealed she has moved out of her £2million Cheshire mansion because it’s “too big”.

The mum-of-five, who only moved in to the property in 2021 after becoming a millionaire again, admitted she was struggling to maintain the family property and now some of her kids were older and had moved out, she was ready to downsize. Though she and fiancé Ryan Mahoney had toyed with the idea of moving to Marbella in Spain, they eventually decided to stay in the UK so they don’t disrupt school for Kerry’s youngest daughter Dylan Jorge (DJ), who is nine.

Posting snaps of ‘moving day’ to her Instagram stories, the 43-year-old former Atomic Kitten star told her 843,000 followers: “It’s moving day!!! And using our trusted and amazing removal team @weareanyvan Just a big shout out to you guys you’ve never let us down!” Sharing she had been keeping the guys going wih cups of tea, she added: “I’ll get the kettle on.”

It comes a month after Kerry dropped the news the family were upping sticks for pastures new. She said: “We’re moving next month and we haven’t packed a single thing. We are not prepared! I’m really sad to leave this house because it’s gorgeous and we really get along with our neighbours. It’s a shame. But I want a house to feel homely and this one is just so big I can’t keep on top of it!” Giving her reasons in her column for New! magazine, Kerry said: “There will be less mess for me to tidy up after the kids in the new house and it’s still close by for DJ’s school.”

When Kerry first moved into the flash six-bedroom property – which has its own cinema room – she couldn’t contain her joy at being able to buy her own home 13 years after losing everything. It came after Kerry had to file for bankruptcy twice in 2008 and 2013. But since she joined adults only site OnlyFans she revealed she has become a millionaire again and got her life back on track.

Writing on Instagram at the time, she excitedly told fans: “Good morning you beautiful people!!! Well it’s official!! After losing EVERYTHING 13 years ago and having to rent I’ve finally bought me a house!! I want to share this news because many times over the years I literally felt suicidal! BUT I never gave up! If I can turn things around and get back on top ANYONE can.

She added: “I’m not gonna lie Credit where credit due I’m really proud of myself. DONT EVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!!!!!!! Doesn’t matter if others don’t believe in you just as long as you believe in yourself! Thank you @ryanmahoney_7 for always having faith in me even when I didn’t. I love you #LOA #stateofmind . Even 6 years ago I never thought I’d be where I am today! It’s been bloody hard. Drugs, bankruptcy, bipolar, mental health, anxiety, divorcees breakdowns, car crash TVs WOW I honestly never thought I’d get through it all! But here I am.”

Kerry then urged fans: “Tell yourself every day you love yourself, tell yourself every day your worth it and never ever let other people’s opinions define you as a person! Learn from it all, move on and help others. oh and yes.. I’m moving back up north.”

It looks like Kerry is remaining in the Cheshire area as she said the family were not going far. And earlier this week, she revealed they are looking to buy their next home together. Kerry said: “We have the keys to our new place now, which is exciting. We’re renting, but I found out this week that I’ve been accepted for a mortgage from a high street bank, which I’m so happy about. I’ve been trying to get on the property ladder for so long and it shows that you really can turn your life around.”
