Pete was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in 2017 when he was 23 years old. “I got diagnosed with BPD a few years ago, and I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn’t know how to deal with it,” he said in a conversation with Variety's Actors On Acting. He added: "Then, when somebody finally tells you, the weight of the world feels lifted off your shoulders. You feel so much better." Pete was seen out and about in late July at a Florida pizza shop, looking healthy after spending the month at the same rehab where his friend and fellow comedian, John Mulaney, was treated.
