Josie Gibson has arrived back at her swanky hotel following her shock exit from I’m A Celebrity on Saturday evening.

After taking part in this year’s iconic Celebrity Cyclone challenge alongside her fellow campmates Tony Bellew, Sam Thompson and Nigel Farage, hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly revealed This Morning star Josie had received the fewest public votes and was therefore out of the competition. In an emotional goodbye, the 38-year old was met by her best pal Mia Williams as she made her way across the bridge out of the jungle.

Still in her camp gear, Josie was later seen emerging from a cab with her son Reggie, five, before receiving rapturous applause in the lobby from the other departed celebrities and contestants’ families and friends. With Marvin Humes and Nick Pickard looking on, Josie shared a sweet embrace with Nella Rose before hugging Danielle Harold.

In her exit interview, Josie looked back on her jungle memories and chatted with Ant and Dec about her fears. “I’ve just spent the whole time in a state of shock. Cyclone was brilliant, I’d pay to do that – but some of the trials were like watching a horror movie.

“I’ve surprised myself. I’m stronger than I thought I was.” She also looked back on her time as camp chef after her ‘feud’ with Fred Sirieix, explaining: “I was trying to cook and Fred was criticising everything I do… I think I put him straight at the end. In the end, I just had to settle it with a showdown. We had a showdown in the end and I won.”

And quizzed by the presenters on who she would like to be crowned King of the Jungle, meanwhile, Josie admitted: “Sam has just got a magic about him, he’s entertaining from the moment he wakes up until he goes to sleep. He’s lifted me when I’ve been at my lowest and he’s just so charming. But Tony again – he’s just so chivalrous – a proper gentleman and a lovely family man. I love the way he talks about family, so it’s out of them two.”

Viewers later expressed their anger on social media at Farage outlasting Josie, with comedian Dom Joly penning on X (formerly Twitter): “The state of the nation where a dullard like Farage beats Josie, who is a fantastic human being…. I don’t understand anything any more. People totally fall for these grifters.” A fan added: “I’m sorry but HOW on God’s green earth has Nigel Farage made it into the final over Josie. I’m boycotting #ImACeleb.”

Another wrote: “I cannot believe for one minute, I am in complete disbelief that Josie was chosen over Farage. I give up. Won’t be watching this farce ever again after this year.” And a third fumed: “If you ever had hope the UK wasn’t populated by right wing idiots, the fact that Farage has made the final over the good heart of Josie shows us sadly there are still a lot of cretins #ImACeleb.”
