Shakira dating Lucien Laviscount amid claims he ‘wants people to know his name’

Following rumours that Shakira and Lucien Laviscount are dating, insiders have now claimed the two are actually together.

Lucien starred alongside the Colombian singer in her newest music video for her song Puntería. The two laid together as a shirtless Lucien caressed Shakira’s cheek against a pink coloured background.

Social media was set ablaze with the possibility of the actor and singer dating, but it wasn’t until now that friends of Shakira admitted the two weren’t “heavily involved” and are worried that Lucien will break the singer’s heart.

A source told DailyMail.com: “Shakira is desperate to fall in love – but her friends are concerned because Lucien has slowly crept his way up the celebrity ladder while dating women who were all less famous than Shakira.” One of the past women the Bridgerton actor dated was Kerry Katona as the two met while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.

“The women he has been with are all very different. Now he is seeing Shakira – and she wants love. But her friends fear he just wants people to know his name and she provides that. They are seeing each other but are not heavily involved yet,” The source continued.

Shakira, 47, met Lucian, 31, on the set for her music video back in February. Since the music video premiered, the two were spotted together on a seemingly romantic date at Italian restaurant Carbone in New York City.

Before Lucian, the songstress was with footballer Gerard Pique, 37, for eleven years and the duo share two sons – Sasha, nine, and Milan, 11. The couple divorced in 2022 after rumours that Gerard was unfaithful.

Shakira fueled those rumours by taking various swipes at her ex-husband, who’s now dating model Clara Chia Marti, 25. In her song Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 that she released with Argentine DJ Bizarrap, she sings in Spanish: “This is for me to mortify you, chew and swallow so it doesn’t sting, I won’t return to you anymore even if you cry or beg me.”

She also blamed Gerard for her long pause of releasing new music. “I was putting out songs here and there but it was really hard for me to put together a body of work,” Shakira said to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, “It was the husband. Now I’m husband-less. Yeah, the husband was dragging me down. Now I’m free. Now I can actually work.”
