Sam Thompson has hinted he could be heading home early from I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! admitting he’d been “violated”.
The cheery telly star who was recently elected as camp leader was left horrified when he was woken up and discovered his bedding was covered in blood. His campmate, singer Marvin Humes first spotted the patches of blood on Sam’s sleeping bag and brought it to his attention before he uncovered more.
Sam, 31, had been residing in the bus in the camp with Humes who was startled by the discovery of Sam’s blood all across his bedding. “Why’ve you got blood on you?” he asked, before Thompson screamed: “Argh I’ve got a leech – argh, no, it’s a dicey one!” But when the JLS singer opened up Sam’s bedding, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

Shocked by the discovery, Sam shrieked in horror: “Oh my God! He’s had a field day! Oh my God, it’s like a murder scene.” Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, he said: “I had a leech attached to my a**e and I feel so violated.” Furious, Sam exited the camp bus and shouted: “This place sucks.”
Marvin went on to joke that Sam had “woken up on the wrong side of the leech,” as he struggled to contain his laughter. But it wasn’t just Sam who got more than he bargained for as Fred Sirieix was left gobsmacked when Sam dropped his trousers in front of him to reveal the bite.

“He showed me his derriere and it was a tiny little speckle on his butt, I know it’s red and it was blood but, come on mate!” he told the Bush Telegraph. But speaking to Fred, a disgruntled Sam commented: “I want to go home.” Although it is not clear whether Sam is contemplating quitting the show, should he decide to, he would be the third star to walk out.
It comes after American actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears made the decision to quit on Wednesday. Jamie had become increasingly upset in camp and shared her desire to quit. A spokesperson for I’m A Celeb said: “Jamie Lynn Spears has left I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds. She’s been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities.”
Just two days before her exit, food critic Grace Dent also left the programme and jetted back to the UK on medical grounds after viewers noticed she had started to become a shell of herself. Ahead of her flight touching down, a source close to Grace confirmed: “She is heading back to London today. She is tired and she just wants to get home.”
